What is L-PRF?
The L-PRF is the abbreviation of the words (Leucocyte Platelet Richfibrin). Hence, this technique is also known as Fibrin Rich in Platelets and Leukocytes. It is a type of plasma very rich in fibrin (PRF), a fibrin matrix rich in growth factors is achieved. Accelerating the regeneration of soft and hard tissues. How is it obtained?
To obtain the L-PRF, a blood sample is taken from the patient. In the dental clinic itself, similar to a conventional extraction for a venous blood test with special tubes and brackets for this extraction. Subsequently, they are placed in a centrifuge at 2,700 rpm, these centrifuges are located in the same dental clinic. Subsequently, and after about 12 minutes, we can remove the tubes from the centrifuge and check the separation of red blood cells and fibrin. This fibrin clot is very manipulable, adapting to the desired shape, hence its use for bone regeneration.
How to use fibrin for regeneration?
This fibrin material, obtained from the patient’s blood, contains a high percentage of platelets close to 95%, together with 50% leukocytes. Therefore, it generates and releases growth factors that help the proliferation and formation of the fibrin matrix. We mix this fibrin matrix with our regeneration materials, resulting in a moldable material that can be adapted to any space. Getting the perfect material for natural bone regeneration.
